Elisa was born in Romania but then spent many years growing up and living in the US. She returned to her native country in 2015 with her husband, to set up a blueberry farm in Northern Romania.
Having witnessed the volume of the dogs on the street, Elisa just could not stand back and so they turned part of their land into a dog shelter and have not stopped rescuing dogs (and cats) since.
Elisa’s passion and love for animals is clear to see and hear in her interactions with them. As well as rescuing animals, Elisa is also very passionate about spay and neuter and works with her local vet to provide a free service to locals. She is also working hard to educate her local community on animal care and respect.
