A LITTLE ABOUT BONNIE

Bonnie was found with her 5 siblings on the 25th March 2024 in a box by the 3 ponds near the shelter. They were dumped without their mum and left to fend for themselves.

What can we say about little Bonnie? If we were asked to sum her up in 3 words we would choose; confident, friendly and clever!

She takes to every new environment and challenge without issue and was a source of comfort to her slightly less confident siblings when completing assessments. Bonnie is a naturally curious and inquisitive dog and it will be important for her new home to keep exposing Bonnie to new things while she is young to really capitalise on this. She is motivated by food and toys as well as human affection, she loves nothing more than coming over for kisses.

Her curiosity is matched by her intelligence and she is quick to learn and eager to try new things. As with all puppies, multiple walks per day and stimulation via training and enrichment is very important but we feel Bonnie in particular, will benefit from an active home that can meet her physical needs as well as a home interested in training Bonnie and really channeling her energy into learning new things.

As with all the tests we did with Bonnie, she excelled in her exposure to the lead and harness and was able to engage with us, treats and toys as well as her environment just as well as she had without them on. New noises and the sight of new items did not phase Bonnie and she just wanted to explore these things, along with the other surfaces in the room.

Bonnie’s only quirk is that she was very interested in the resident assessment cat and so we would either prefer a home for Bonnie without cats or a home where lots of slow, controlled introductions can be done. She could absolutely live with or without other dogs and children though and would love a friend to play with.

This little poppet is absolutely ready to go home and is now accepting applications.
